Two days ago I decided to chuck aside my laptop for a day and instead give some attention to another consumer durable item in my house 'TV'. And so I happen to watch 'Birth Story' on Discovery Channel in which I saw a LIVE NORMAL DELIVERY!! It would be an understatement to say that the show was 'eye-opening'! I was shocked, apprehensive, scared, relieved and moved to tears. The scene of the new born baby popping out into the world refused to go out of my mind...
To the effect, that last night I was convinced that my water had broken and I had gone into labour. A visit to the loo dispelled all such imaginative notions from my head and I managed to slip into la la land after much tossing and turning. But my mind refused to accept that my delivery date is still good 2 months away. I dreamt of how my water broke, how I rushed to the hospital, how a silly doc displayed diagrams and diagrams of the kind of episotomy he would prefer to do on me (EEKS). But thankfully, I woke up before he could butcher me up.
Reading and watching birth stories are unravelling my mind...rather than preparing me for the D-day
